My favorite leather cleaner/conditioner

I'm not fond of the type of leather cleaner that insists on putting it's own "personality" on your fine leathers. If I want a glossy look, or that "new car smell" on my leather seats, frankly, there are better ways. In a nutshell, this is why I'm such a fan of this particular product: all you get is your leather with whatever surface it was born with - but wonderfully clean, and with a bit of a protective layer on top to ward off the next nasty spill or stain.

I have a Porsche with the full leather interior in two-tone beige and black. As you might imagine, the beige is a challenge to keep in pristine condition - one passenger with a brand new pair of jeans is all it takes. Porsche uses a fairly plain and flat leather that's very rich but not at all glossy. Meguir's product gets an amazing amount of dirt out of the leather - white applicators come away looking gray, even in my almost new vehicle - but when it dries, the leather ends up with exactly the same tex ture and appearance as new. My car's new enough to still have the authentic "new car smell", and Meguir's doesn't change that at all.

So far, I've used this product on several cars and even an expensive Tumi leather backpack, and in every case, it performed above my expectations. Wonderful product - just can't say enough good about it.

DO NOT use on Lexus Leather

The leather in Lexus automobiles is unsealed and therefore can be a bit of a hassle to clean and condition. I have no problems with the Meguiar's brand and thought i would give it a try to clean the seats in my IS 250. It DID clean off an exceptional amount of dirt and grease, (the white towel turned black) but in one portion it also did an exceptional job at bleaching the seat. Luckily my seats are the smokey/gray color and the loss of color isn't too noticeable. I then used it on my g/f's ford leather seats and it again pulled off dirt, but seems to have left the seats feeling and looking dried out..if you have unsealed seats, i use & highly recommend Lexol Cleaner and Lexol Conditioner. You can pick them up at auto zone or O'reileys for around the same price as on amazon.

My Go-To Leather Cleaner

I bought this on a whim a few months ago to clean my seats and all the little leather pieces in my interior. I put a little squirt on a microfiber towel, rubbed all over the leather, waited about a minute and then wiped off with a damp microfiber towel. What you are left with is like-new leather as if you just purchased the car yesterday. Soft and supple leather, the way it should always be. It has a very slight scent that lingers for a few days (I don't mind) and everyone that comes into my car comments on how great the car smells.

I also was able to rejuvinate my wife's steering wheel in her car as it was completely wrecked from never cleaning it for the past 10 years. It cut through all the grease and grime and it came out looking brand new on a 2002 car, she couldn't believe it! I can't recommend this stuff enough. It can handle both small and big cleaning/conditioning jobs. Meguiars has always been a brand I could count on and this product is no exception.
