5Good For Boots And Shoes
By alexanderaku
I use Red Wing Boot Oil for a pair of black Red Wing steel toe work shoes to keep the leather uppers soft and looking new after every cleaning with saddle soap, once they have dried. With a little black polish after the oil has soaked in, the result is these shoes still look fairly new after several years of use. I usually do this to these shoes once a month to keep them looking and feeling great. The oil is light in color, and has a very slight coconut butter and pine odor.

But wait, I also use this oil on my Rockport NuBuck (micro suede) shoes anytime they start looking lighter in color than they were when I purchased them. I had once spilled some used motor oil on the Rockports and it had quickly soaked in. I tried cleaning them with saddle soap, but the shoes were then lighter in color, after drying, and the motor oil stain still showed. I decided then to try some Red Wing Oil. I applied it to a clean cloth and rubbed it on the shoes. The oil stain disappea red and, after a day, the color of the Rockport NuBucks was the same as when I purchased them. Ever since, I treat them with Red Wing Oil whenever they start looking lighter than they were new. The results have been these shoes also still look new after several years. I call that killing four birds with one stone - all weather protection, conditioning the leather, stain removal, and keeping the leather supple and looking new.

I also use Red Wing Oil on the leather soles of my dress shoes, with a later application of silicone, to keep the soles from drying and cracking. Once in a while, I also lightly wipe the uppers with the oil and allow them to sit a while before polishing and buffing them with shoe polish. The result, my dress shoes are lasting and looking good much longer.

In conclusion, I've seen all my shoes continue looking better longer and wearing longer - with the only difference having been the additional care using Red Wing Boot Oil. It real ly makes leather last longer. I just purchased some recently in this 8 ounce bottle at a Red Wing store for six dollars, and it lasts a long time as a little goes a long way.

Note:

If you have time to stop by, Red Wing Shoe stores also offer free oiling for Red Wing boots.

5Boots look fantastic
By Deez
Like new. This stuff worked. I have an old pair and a new pair of boots I used this on and it revived the old pair while rendering the new pair so ridiculously supple and soft that I couldn't believe it. I make everyone touch them now.

Good stuff.

5gets the job done

This protects my red wing boots from the environment. It's not too hard to apply, and dires out fairly quickly, but I don't anticipate on having to apply this frequently. Good price for such a large bottle.
